Student Athlete Strength and Conditioning Program

The student athlete strength and conditioning program is a system designed to take youth athletes to the next level by teaching proper mechanics, recovery, movement, nutrition and flexibility.

The strength and conditioning staff is dedicated to providing a totally sound strength and conditioning program for both male and female student-athletes.

This program has evolved from a program designed for small children to a program designed specifically for teen athletes. Teen athletes face many unique challenges today. Most athletes are sport specific and are seeing increased  overuse injuries.  The objective of the strength and conditioning program is to ensure each student-athlete in every sport is provided with sound in-season and off-season programs. This program of activity includes strength, conditioning, flexibility, and nutrition.

A strength and conditioning coordinator for each sport is provided to allow athletes the ability to reach the highest training levels.

In order for all student-athletes to perform at a championship level, the staff commits itself to providing the strength, confidence, and durability to compete at the highest levels of competition.

A winning edge is the objective of the strength and conditioning staff and, with the cooperation of coaches and the student-athletes, championship performances can be attained through hard work and determination.By teaching youth athletes about the Athletic Pyramid and how beneficial it is to them we have significantly lowered injury rates while at the same time increased overall performance.

Our staff takes great pride in providing a very intensive in-season program. We believe this intensive program helps maintain greater overall body strength and conditioning levels during the season. By maintaining strength in the muscles and connective tissues throughout the season, we will decrease the potential for injuries.

The off-season program is also extremely intensive. Specific areas addressed during the off-season are speed, strength, power, agility, fundamentals, and nutrition.

Our interaction with nutritional consultants is essential. By having our athletes eat high perfomamce meals, we can gain first-hand knowledge of how effective proper nutriton can be. We have an open channel of communication with our nutrition staff. This allows our student-athletes to have a winning edge with a sound nutrition program.

Finally if we teach and athlete how to properly stretch which allows the athlete to suffer less injuries and be just as good at the end of the season as they were at the beginning. As a result a coaches overall success rate on the playing field increases as does the athlete’s skill level.

Because your physical well-being is essential to your success, both as a student and as an athlete, it is important that you maintain a solid balance among your working, sleeping and eating habits.

We feel a strong responsibility to help you reach and maintain your optimum health and achieve
conditioning goals. For this reason, we have developed excellent training and conditioning programs to lessen the possibility of injuries. However, should these occur, we are just as committed to a comprehensive rehabilitation program.

You are encouraged to reach and maintain the best physical condition possible. Your coaches, athletic trainers, and the strength and conditioning coach will put together a conditioning program tailored to your specific needs.

The bottom line is simple, athletes that have aspirations to play at the next level will not get there based on ability alone. These athelete needs to be strong, fast, and durable they need to show up in shape and ready to play or they will be replaced. Olympic Weightlifting, Gymnastic Movements and Metabolic Conditioning workouts when used in conjunction develop more diversified and more coordinated athletes.
