Brent Huntington

I have spent 14+ years (going for the full 20) in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves with multiple combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, so fitness isn’t only a hobby for me, it’s a necessity.  I started CrossFit in 2009 when one of my junior Marine’s (CF Bellevue alumni Scott Schactler) told me to “check it out” and have been hooked ever since.  I spend my mornings training with the “Morning Crew” and coaching new CFB athletes in CrossFit Fundamentals & the 6 Week Challenge programs.  Coaching new future athletes inspires me beyond words and seeing the results of human potential never ceases to amaze me.

Works primarily within CrossFit Bellevue’s Fundamentals program, introducing new clients to the ins and outs of the CrossFit methodology, paleo and primal eating strategies, and basic human biomechanics. As one of the founding members of CrossFit Bellevue, Levi has progressed from an unsure beginner to a confident coach whose favorite movements include handstand push-ups, burpees, and overhead squats. With a lifelong background in nutrition, a constant desire to learn and try new things (currently circus arts), and a love of helping clients achieve new heights of fitness, Levi can most often be found yelling at people to get their thumbs wrapped around the pull-up bar, or to go deeper in their squats.

I am a Seattle-area native and a former Captain in the US Marine Corps. I have competed in a variety of sports, earning a national championship in horseback riding during high school, and receiving all-conference honors in skiing while at the US Naval Academy. I got hooked on CrossFit after having my first child because of the time-efficient workouts. I am currently raising three kids and coaching Fundamentals/6-week challenge classes.

I am from Sammamish, Washington. Growing up, I had always been an athlete, earning a Martial Arts black belt and spending my spare time doing any outdoor activity I could get my hands on. I began CrossFit six years ago to help recover from a shoulder injury and instantly fell in love with the training and the community. I recently got out of the Marine Corps as a Captain, spending an incredible tour in Okinawa, Japan. During that time, I was lucky enough to compete as part of a team in the 2014 CrossFit Asia Regionals, where our team placed 3rd overall. After regionals, I shifted my focus to my true passion: coaching athletes. I am a CrossFit Level Two Trainer and USAW Sports Performance Coach. My favorite part about CrossFit is helping athletes in their pursuit to be the best version of themselves. I have traveled all over the United States and Asia, visiting different gyms everywhere I go. The people I have encountered in CrossFit are unlike any other, and I am grateful every day to be a part of this awesome community!
