meDan Cerrillo is a certified U.S. Navy Master Training Specialist, and spent 13 years on active duty with 12 years in the Naval Special Warfare Command. He served as both a Seal Operator and Basic Underwater Demolition / Seal Instructor during his military career. Dan specializes in teaching his clients about the fundamentals of CrossFit and the physical and mental toughness that goes along with it.

Leilani M. Cerrillo is the Operations Manager for CrossFit Bellevue. Leilani is a highly-experienced manager and hardcore CrossFit athlete.

Sarah Barnes is a former collegiate athlete in the sport of rowing. She began competing at Mt. Baker Crew in Seattle, and went on to row for the University of Connecticut (the other Huskies!) and for Western Washington University, where she competed in the NCAA Division II National Championships in 2004. Sarah was introduced to CrossFit Bellevue in December 2009 when she joined with her fiancé in order to get fit for their wedding.  Now, Sarah and her husband Derek compete with each other frequently in workouts, with the loser always doing the dishes! Sarah enjoys the supportive community of athletes at CrossFit Bellevue, and seeing how quickly it can produce results when putting in the effort!

Lizzy Canales holds a Master’s degree in Health Education, and is currently working on a nutrition certification. Lizzy participated in collegiate track and cheerleading at Azusa Pacific University, and has coached collegiate cheerleading in southern California. She started CrossFitting after having her first child and it brought her health and fitness back to the level it was as a collegiate athlete. Lizzy loves to spend time with her children and her husband, Dave.

Irene Cuberos is a former Division I women’s lacrosse player. Her husband purchased CrossFit Bellevue’s Fundamentals program as her 2010 Christmas gift, and she hasn’t looked back since. Irene began coaching because of the life-changing experience she had during Fundamentals and believes in functional fitness for all and having fun while achieving it. She loves the dead-lift and the kettlebell and is working on loving rowing and toes-to-bar.

Will Cuberos began training at CrossFit Bellevue in the summer of 2010 and was instantly hooked, drawn into the fun atmosphere and competitive nature of the CrossFit community. Will has been an athlete his entire life, participating in football, basketball, rugby and track, but believes CrossFit has given him the opportunity to continue to challenge himself. Will loves coaching because it allows him to see people develop new skills through hard work and determination.

Anna Cummins is a two-time Olympian in the sport of rowing. A native of Bellevue, Anna earned 12 varsity letters from Newport High School before heading to the University of Washington to walk on the crew, where she won four NCAA titles. Joining the United States National Rowing Team, she became a two-time world record holder, three-time World Champion, Olympic Silver Medalist in 2004 and Olympic Gold Medalist in 2008. She was the first American woman to ever compete in two rowing events at the Olympic Games. Now, Anna and her husband, Dr. Bob Cummins, operate Cummins Chiropractic & Wellness in Factoria where they have a goal of “Gold Medal Health” for the community. Anna’s favorite part about CrossFit is the community of people at the gym and the way she has been able to maintain her fitness post elite racing.

Dr. Bob Cummins is a World Rowing Champion. Growing up in Everett, Dr. Bob graduated from the University of Washington, where he stroked the men’s eight to a National Title. He went on to represent the United States and won the World Rowing Championships in 1997. Bob spent a year coaching the Husky men’s crew before he graduated Suma Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic College West and worked at a world-class chiropractic clinic in New York’s Manhattan, while his wife, Anna, trained for the 2008 Olympic Games. Now, Dr. Bob and Anna own and operate Cummins Chiropractic & Wellness in Factoria. He serves as the official doctor for CrossFit Bellevue. He believes wholeheartedly in the philosophy of CrossFit and how it aligns perfectly with the way our bodies were designed to move: “constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement.”

Levi Dempsey works primarily within CrossFit Bellevue’s Fundamentals program, introducing new clients to the ins and outs of the CrossFit methodology, paleo and primal eating strategies, and basic human biomechanics. As one of the founding members of CrossFit Bellevue, Levi has progressed from an unsure beginner to a confident coach whose favorite movements include handstand push-ups, burpees, and overhead squats. With a lifelong background in nutrition, a constant desire to learn and try new things (currently circus arts), and a love of helping clients achieve new heights of fitness, Levi can most often be found yelling at people to get their thumbs wrapped around the pull-up bar, or to go deeper in their squats.

Farrah Griffin has coached gymnastics since 1998, serving as Newport High School’s Assistant Head Coach and Head Coach for 10 years, and is currently on staff at Gymnastics East. Farrah has been an athlete all her life, competing as a level-10 gymnast and ranking nationally in both gymnastics and track and field. She competed in gymnastics for one year at Ohio State University and was a regional qualifier in vault and floor. Farrah discovered CrossFit in March 2011, and was drawn to its dynamic programming and challenging atmosphere. Farrah enjoys spending time with her three children, Jackson, Kennedy and Taylor, and her husband Kevin.

Charles “Chuck” Haggin is a University of Washington graduate and has been involved in sports and weightlifting for more than 15 years. CrossFit has enabled Chuck to become the most physically and mentally fit he has ever been, and he enjoys sharing that experience with his clients. The best part of CrossFit for Chuck is the competitive nature the gym brings.

Jennifer Henderson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering, and is a graduate of the US Naval Test Pilot School.  She is a Boeing Test Pilot and USAFR C-17 Pilot. Jennifer found CrossFit in 2009 when she was searching for a fitness regimen that was both mentally and physically challenging. She is obsessed with researching new techniques for CrossFit movements and passing them along to her clients. Jenn is best known for her 5 a.m. classes (because she is one of the few crazy people in the world willing to work out that early!).  Her interests include hiking, boating and learning more about CrossFit.

Cody Hromada served in the United States Marine Corps where he deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq, leading more than 800 real-world missions. Physical fitness has always been a part of Cody’s life and he has a wide range of athletic experience from competing on the national level for Greco Roman and Freestyle wrestling to completing a full Ironman triathlon to participating in the CrossFit Games Open. Cody fell in love with CrossFit when he began more than two years ago because it has gotten him in better shape than ever, and is suitable for anyone who participates.

Jon Lyon played college football at the University of Washington, serving as the starting Tight End from 2003 – 2004. A highly-competitive athlete, Jon was introduced to CrossFit in December 2007 and has never looked back. CrossFit has allowed Jon to remain an elite athlete after his football career, and he serves as Captain for Team CrossFit Bellevue. Jon is a California transplant and an avid Bay Area sports fan and outdoor enthusiast.

Steve Suyama was first introduced to CrossFit by his co-workers at the Kirkland Fire Department. The strong fitness level of the Firefighters doing CrossFit caught management’s attention, so they provided funding for a group to attend the Level 1 Certification seminar. Steve believes CrossFit is the best fitness program for him to stay prepared for his job. At CrossFit Bellevue, Steve is able to fulfill his passion for fitness, competition, and helping others. Steve is from the Seattle area where he grew up playing football, basketball, baseball and golf, and continued playing baseball at Seattle University, where he graduated in 1989. In his spare time, Steve spends time with his three kids, and enjoys being able to work out with his wife Betsy, who is also an avid CrossFitter.

Rory Zambard is an energetic, dedicated and interested young woman who’s passionate about spreading the joy of fitness. She started CrossFitting in 2005 with her mom and has been hooked ever since! Rory spent the last two years coaching CrossFit and finishing her degree as a history major at the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!). Her goal is to continually be a positive influence on those around her. You’ll find her smiling, laughing or lifting something heavy, more often than not. She’s got a soft spot for cats and loves random historical factoids—and her favorite thing about her job is the people!

Paul Zavaglia is a nationally registered EMT, aspiring firefighter and graduate of the University of Washington in both Construction Management and Sociology. Paul discovered CrossFit in 2008, as he used to pass a gym every day on his way to school, and was hooked after his first WOD. Paul has now has been coaching for more than four years, and led his team to victory in the 2009 CrossFit Games Affiliate Cup. In his spare time, Paul is often found playing volleyball at Greenlake, braving the cold waters of the Washington coast to surf, and spending time with his girlfriend Caitlyn and their little pooch, Maverick.
