Coaches

Dan Cerrillo is a Certified CrossFit Level – 2, SealFit Level – 2, CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Gymnastics, CrossFit Mobility / Recovery, and CrossFit Nutrition, CrossFit Olympic Lifting Coach and Certified U.S. Navy Master Training Specialist. Dan spent 13-years on active duty of which twelve were spent within the Naval Special Warfare Command. Dan served as both an Seal operator, and Basic Underwater Demolition/ Seal Instructor during his military career. Dan specializes in teaching his clients about the fundamentals of CrossFit and the physical and mental toughness that goes along with it.

Leilani M. Cerrillo is a Certified CrossFit Level-1, CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Gymnastics, CrossFit Mobility / Recovery Coach and Burgner Olympic Lifting course attendee. Leilani is the Operations Manager for CrossFit Bellevue. Leilani is a highly experienced manager and hardcore CrossFit athlete.

Janice Spray Janice competed in this years CrossFit Games 45-50 Masters Division and finished 4th in the world in 2011 and finished the 2012 CF Open in 3rd place. Janice is our lead private training coach and also is a Certified CrossFit Level-1, CrossFit Gymnastics and CrossFit Endurance Coach and CrossFit Olympic Lifting coach.  Janice is the mother of three (18, 15, and 5 years old) and a self-proclaimed fitness fanatic who balances her routine with cardio and strength training workouts in the morning and afternoon. You will most likely spot her in her 25 lb. weight vest either running in the neighborhood, or at CFBV. You will most often see Janice working with the children in our CrossFit Kids program or competing with the big boys during our workouts. Janice is passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals, Janice is also a graduate of the University of Washington.

Anna Cummins is a Certified CrossFit Level-1 Coach and a two time Olympian in the sport of rowing. A native of Bellevue, WA, Anna earned 12 varsity letters from Newport High School before heading to the University of Washington to walk on the crew. She won four NCAA titles with the Huskies. Joining the United States National Rowing Team, she became a two-time world record holder, three-time World Champion, Olympic Silver Medalist in 2004 and Olympic Gold Medalist in 2008. She was the first American woman to ever compete in two rowing events at the Olympic Games. Now, Anna and her husband, Dr. Bob Cummins, operate Cummins Chiropractic & Wellness in Factoria where they have a goal of “Gold Medal Health” for the community. Anna’s favorite part about CrossFit is the community of people at the gym and the way she has been able to maintain her fitness post elite racing.

Dr. Bob Cummins is a Certified CrossFit Level-1 Coach and a World Rowing Champion. Growing up in Everett, Dr. Bob graduated from the University of Washington, where he stroked the men’s eight to a National Title. He went on to represent the United States and won the World Rowing Championships in 1997. Bob spent a year coaching the Husky men’s crew before he graduated Suma Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic College West and worked at a world class chiropractic clinic in New York’s Manhattan, while his wife, Anna, trained for the 2008 Olympic Games. Now, Dr. Bob and Anna own and operate Cummins Chiropractic & Wellness in Factoria. He serves as the official doctor for CrossFit Bellevue. He believes wholeheartedly in the philosopy of CrossFit and how it aligns perfectly with how our bodies were designed to move: “constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movement.”

Jon Lyon is a Certified CrossFit Level-1 and Gymnastics coach. Jon played college football at the University of Washington where he was the starting Tight End from 2003 to 2004. Jon was introduced to CrossFit in December 2007 and has never looked back. As a highly competitive athlete Jon says he loves CrossFit as it fills the void left in his life when his football career ended. As a California transplant Jon is an avid Bay Area sports fan and outdoor enthusiast. Jon is also the Captain for Team CrossFit Bellevue.

Cody Hromada is Certified Level-1 Crossfit and Crossfit Olympic Lifting Coach. Psychical fitness has always been a part of Cody’s life and he has always been involved with sports. Cody comes from a background where fitness was more than a hobby. He served in the United States Marine Corps where he deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq where he lead over 800 real world missions. He has a wide range of athletic experience from competing on the national level for Greco Roman and Freestyle wrestling to completing a full Ironman triathlon to participating in the CrossfFit Games Open. Cody fell in love with CrossFit when he began over 2 years ago because it has gotten him in better shape than ever, and is suitable for anyone who participates.

Gabe Desgarennes is a Certified CrossFit Level -1 Coach, CrossFit Bar-bell, CrossFit Nutritionist, CrossFit Gymnastics and CrossFit Level-2 Candidate Coach. Gabe instructs the Monday and Tuesday evening classes. Gabe is a young, energetic and integral part of CrossFit Bellevue and his ability to speak to both adults and teens is invaluable. Gabe is also a graduate of Green River Community College.

Steve Suyama is a Certified CrossFit Level-1 Coach and a Certified A.C.E Peer Fitness Trainer for the Kirkland Fire Department where he works as a Firefighter. For Steve, the best part of Crossfit is having his wife and three children in the club working out together as a family. The next time you are in the club make sure you introduce yourselves to Steve and his lovely family.

Charles “Chuck” Haggin is a Certified CrossFit Level-1, CrossFit Kids, and CrossFit Gymnastics Coach. Charles is also a CrossFit Level -2 Candidate. For me, the best part of CrossFit is the competitive nature the gym brings. I am a University of Washington graduate and have been involved in sports and an avid weight lifter for 15 plus years. CrossFit has enabled me to become the most physically and mentally fit I’ve ever been.

Levi Dempsey is a Certified CrossFit Level-1 CrossFit Gymnastics , CrossFit Mobility and Recovery and CrossFit Olympic Lifting Coach, and works primarily within Fundamentals program, introducing new clients to the ins and outs of the Crossfit methodology. One of the first members of Crossfit Bellevue, he has progressed from an unsure beginner to a confidant coach who’s specialties include some of the most dreaded movements of Crossfit; handstand push-ups and overhead squats. A lifelong background in nutritional knowledge, a constant desire to learn and try new things, and a love of helping clients achieve new heights of fitness are among his most notable traits, and he’ll be found most often yelling at people to get their thumbs wrapped around the pull-up bar, or to go deeper in their squats.

Sarah Barnes is a Certified CrossFit Level-1 Coach and former collegiate athlete in the sport of rowing. She began competing in rowing at Mt. Baker Crew in Seattle and attended Mercer Island High School.  She rowed for the University of Connecticut (the other Huskies!) and for Western Washington University, where she competed in the NCAA Division II National Championships in 2004. Sarah was introduced to CrossFit Bellevue in December 2009 when she joined with her fiancé in order to get fit for their wedding.  Now, Sarah and her husband Derek compete with each other frequently in workouts, loser always does the dishes! What Sarah enjoys most about CrossFit is the supportive community of athletes, and seeing how quickly it can produce results when putting in the effort!

Rory Zambard is a CrossFit Level-1 and IKFF Level-2 certified coach. She started CrossFitting in 2005 with her mom and has been hooked ever since! She’s spent the last two years coaching CrossFit and finishing her degree as a history major at the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!). Rory is an energetic, dedicated and interested young woman who’s passionate about spreading the joy of fitness. Her goal is to continually be a positive influence on those around her. You’ll find her smiling, laughing or lifting something heavy, more often than not. She’s got a soft spot for cats and loves random historical factoids—and her favorite thing about her job are the people!

Irene Cuberos is a certified CrossFit Level-1 coach and former Division I women’s lacrosse player. Her 2010 Christmas gift from her husband was the  fundamentals program from CrossFit Bellevue and she hasn’t looked back since. She began coaching because of the life-changing experience she had during fundamentals and believes in functional fitness for all and having fun while achieving it. She loves the dead-lift and the kettle-bell and is working on loving rowing and toes to bar.

Will Cuberos is a CrossFit Level-1 and Mobility certified coach.  Will began training at CrossFit Bellevue in the summer of 2010 and was instantly hooked. He was drawn to the fun atmosphere and competitive nature of the CrossFit community. He has been an athlete his entire life, participating in football, basketball, rugby and track but feels that CrossFit has given him the opportunity to continue to challenge himself. He loves coaching because CrossFit has given him the ability to see people develop new skills through hard work and determination.
